Choosing right Hearing Aids at right price
It might happen that you are in need of a hearing aid but you are worried about choosing the correct one and also about the hearing aid price. So this article would help you with some tips & tricks for buying correct hearing aid.
There are several hearing aids from different companies which are available in the market. The most important point that one has to notice is that all contain more or less same parts to carry sound to your ears. The only difference is in the style, size, circuit and power of the hearing devices. Some are big and some are small enough to fit inside the ear canal.
1. Completely in the canal:
The name itself suggests that this kind of hearing aid is shaped to fit inside the ear canal. This device uses small batteries which are less powerful compare to the large batteries.
This device is shaped to fit partly in the ear canal, but not as acutely as the completely-in-the-canal aid.
The half-shell fills the lower portion of the bowl-shaped area of the outer ear. This is bigger than an in-the-canal hearing aid. This is also very easier to handle and fits most ears.
4. In-the-ear (full-shell):
An in-the-ear (full-shell) hearing aid fills most of the bowl-shaped area of the outer ear. This hearing instrument is more visible than the other kind. As this uses larger batteries so it last longer than the smaller hearing aids.
Behind-the-ear hearing aids hook over the top of your ear and rest behind the ear. People of all age group with any type of hearing loss can use this type of aids.
6. Open fit:
This type of hearing device is similar to the behind-the-ear-style device, however much smaller in size.
Hearing aids are available in all styles and price ranges so before buying any hearing device please study about the different available styles and their merits and demerits. You must visit an audiologist for further assistance.
